iPhone playing music and phone simultaneously?

This evening I was listening to a podcast in my car via the Apple Podcasts app playing through the USB cable. When someone called me, the podcast stopped and the bluetooth sync notified me of the call. The weird part is that when I hit the button to answer, the phone call picked up but I also got the first song in the iTunes library at the same time. I had to pick up the phone, open the music app, and stop it from playing. Anyone else experience an issue with their V launching music playback when answering a call?

I have as well, for some reason it's every time I plug my phone into the USB port and then answer my first call. Fairly annoying hence why I now use straight Bluetooth. Gracenote is horrible also by the way. Unfortunately have not found a solution other than not plugging my phone into the USB.

I've disabled the Gracenote, although iTunes doesn't seem to have transferred art for all of my music to the phone, so I'll have to work that out.

My concern now is that I'm getting a random popping noise in my music while listening via USB... not sure if that's the latest iOS update or the car...

That's very strange, I would say call the tech guy from the dealership you bought it from, but they're usually lot very helpful. How did you disable gracenote? I've looked an couldn't find anything.

You go into the settings option and hit the 'gracenote' icon. You can just turn it off. I don't really see the point of it anyway... it downloads cover art and song titles, but only when you're using an MP3 player. i.e. it gives you song titles and album art only with the one device that already has all of the cover art and song titles on it. Lame.

As for the popping noises, I suspect it may be because I'm using the iPhone on USB while it's also connected via Bluetooth... I wonder if that's causing interference or something?

Well oddly enough I had my phone connected via Bluetooth and the USB cable once and I got a message saying something along the lines of "you can't have both in use with the same device at the same time." My head unit then froze and wouldn't work for an hour or so. Never saw that message again though. Yes I completely agree, gracenote is completely useless

Yeah, mine pops that message from time to time as well, although it doesn't appear to stop me from using it or freeze up or anything. As noted in my original post though, it does seem to confuse the system when I get a call though... tries to play the music and the phone at the same time.
