Broken Touchscreen

I was moving around boxes in my '13 Veloster today and managed to crack the touchscreen. It is now completely non-responsive and looks hideous. I called the local dealer in NJ and they quoted me over $2,400 to replace it!

Anyone have any ideas on where to buy an inexpensive replacement and even install it myself (or what to do other than go to the dealer)?

You cant get a decent looking aftermarket headunit that looks OEM for $800

A couple years ago I broke my iphone screen and was able to buy a replacement screen and install it myself. Anyone have any idea if those exist specifically for the Veloster? I've been able to find random 7" digitizers but nothing that specifically says for a Veloster.

I see no reason why I shouldn't be able to attempt to replace the screen...

Wow, those Android ones. If the steering wheel controls are fully compatible that would be an awesome upgrade.

Yes, I was thinking that, but i think someone in another thread said that those head units are crap.

But if they did work well, can you imagine running the torque app right from the head unit? that would be sweet

I believe the crappy ones comment was regarding some Chinese lookalike that runs on a rather slow WinCE interface.

This is the first time I've seen a Headunit running on Android. Albeit an old build sadly.

Im going to be devils advocate and agree that lying is not the way to go. Keep in mind this is all online and I know for a fact that Hyundai keeps an eye on forums like this to make sure sensitive material doesn't get posted (I guess from someone like me who knows secret stuff). If you lie and it traces back to you I assure you the dealer and Hyundai wont take it lying down.

Lets take this down a notch too - lets not get into a heated argument of morals.
