I like the look of the DCT shifter.. it's not plain like most Autos.

I like it too.. but did they really have to put "Dual Clutch" at the bottom?

    Nice. Love seeing the interiors.

Is the black leatherette on the black seats in two different textures on the seat bolsters- glossy and textured?
I don't think they did that with the red

    Am I seeing this correctly?

You can use the stick shifter to change gears or the paddle shifters on the steering wheel?

    Ooo I like that

For some reason I thought the DCT only had paddle shifters that would let you manually shift.

Yes you are correct.. I don't like the paddles but the stick shifter is great.. I use it on the wife's Veloster when ever I feel the need to merge into incoming traffic, it takes the lag off accelerating which you get when you drive it in auto with Eco on..

Please forgive me for a stupid question to the manual drivers out there, but I've always driven autos so just learning the concepts so I can try the manual shifting on the DCT-

So you shift down a gear when passing to get more speed faster (or up)?

I'm trying to relate it to changing gears on a 10-speed bicycle to help me understand- lower gears are smaller so it takes more RPMs to move the same MPG but they're easier to push....does this analogy work for car gears?

That's right. Lower gears have more torque (turning power), and will spin faster than a higher gear under the same load or at the same speed. Higher gears do less RPMs and produce less torque but use far less gas.

They did do that with the red. The areas that are red are leatherette and the primary part of the seat where your a$$ and back are have a mesh covering that are black.

No I was asking about the side bolsters not the seat or seat back...the insert appears to be shiny while the part that wraps around to the back appears textured and matte.
