the shade of blue the veloster has is really quite a looker. it never fails to get attention wherever it goes.......

This is Vigor. DCT, "Package 3" (i.e. Tech and Style) and a shot of a 18" Tech alloy with a Continental ExtremeWeatherContact DWS tire.

The DWS tire is terrific. It's a much more forgiving ride and quieter than the O.E. Kumho Solus.

I did change the tires.

Lately, Hyundai has fitted Nexen or Kumho as O.E. tires for the U.S., but other markets, like the U.K., get Hankook (Optimo?) rubbers... much better tire, IMHO.

I test drove a Base V and really didn't like the way the Kumho tires rode, plus wintertime conditions can be pretty severe in Minnesota. So, I went with the Conti DWS for a better (on the 18" Tech alloys), quieter and somewhat safer ride.

My dealer's Tire Department Manager and I made a bargain where the factory Kumho tires would be traded in for a set of TPMS modules, which will be fitted to a set of Base 17" rims (bought rims and Kumho O.E. tires through another Veloster.org member) and Continental ExtremeWinterContact rubbers. This set will be used during Winter from now on.

And yes, the dealer would give me some credit for the 17" Kumhos (only has 200 miles on them), which will help pay for the shipping to my dealer to get the Conti Winter tires fitted.

Now all I have to do is swap tires during winter. No need to unmount/remount tires, reprogram TPMS modules... Also, 17" Winter tires are far cheaper (about four times less) than 18" ones.

Looks great. You have special headlights on your Veloster? How do those headlights compare with what's supposed to be on the Veloster Turbo?

hi phaedrus. i really dont know how different is mine from the others here. mine is a KDM. it has some sort of angel eyes. and passive light below the headlight (its not LED though).

For whatever reason, Hyundai bestowed projector headlights for other markets, but not in North America. Probably to reach a certain strategic price point.

You can purchase KDM projectors and, indeed, a couple of Veloster.org sponsors are looking to sell V light assembly kits for those wanting to upgrade. Like me.

Nope. Mine are standard halogens.
