    Kollin's Matte VT Build

So after hanging around on here for a few months after I bought my VT (back on September 3), I've decided to start "building". I'm starting this now because my first parts are coming in, and I have a place to work on stuff (am visiting home for Christmas) as opposed to my college's parking garage. They don't like cars being in pieces in public parking spaces apparently, but whatever. But here she is the day that I got her. This is my first car that I've paid for myself (I'm 18) and my mom was so excited that she snapped this picture. Its the only one I have of the car right off the lot, you can still see the salesmen putting on my temp plate haha

And then the day after for a quick photo shoot before a 7 and 1/2 hour drive home

So the first thing I did to my car was put LED's in it These are pretty cool, they fade between 7 different colors, and also they have a microphone built into the control box so it can 'hear' music thats playing and blink to the music. It can be pretty distracting tho, so I don't drive with that on, only when I show it off to people who haven't been in my car before, hahah. I've got a video if anyone wants to see it, but for now here is a picture of it changing from green to red. Got 'em off Amazon along with some cheap clip-on splicer things so I could wire them. Oh and floor mats.

So like I said, I decided to start this now because I bought some things for Christmas, but I don't wanna give too much away so I'll just leave you with this for now.

Thanks man, hopefully everything that I got for the break will be done by the end of the year (29th/30th with maybe a little something extra from the family). I've got quite a lot to do once it all gets here. I'm trying to be creative but Matte Gray is hard to be creative with, hahah, but I think I'll love what I have coming up.

Im excited to see it on too, I didn't have the skills (tools really) to make my own, and this one was a fair bit cheaper cost wise than the DIY version you did, but doing stuff DIY just makes it that much better

So this came in the mail today.

I had a problem installing it though. I couldn't get the top left nut tightened back down after getting the other 3 on. I had to give up because it got dark, so I'll try again in the morning. Figured I'd go ahead and post it though, so here it is. Its a VT-ONE Chromoly Strut Brace that I ordered off Pierce Motorsport. Might just take a little more persuasion to get it on. We'll see though

Well this sh** just happened. Thought I was in neutral when I started my car, after putting my parking brake down I just lurched forward and scraped the side of the garage. So not happy right now. And matte paint too. UGH, my fault.

As of now I'm taking it to a collision shop tomorrow to see what this is gonna cost to get fixed. Idk what I'm gonna do after that. This is gonna cost me a fortune and a leg to fix.

Ouch. That's gonna be a rough estimate. Hope you're heart can take it.

Thanks guys, turns out thats not the only thing wrong. I crushed my leg between my door (I was half in the car just to get it started) and the garage frame when I lurched forward. Well it got stuck and crushed there and i almost couldn't move it to put the clutch in to shift into reverse to get it out. After calming down I went to my neighbor (who is thankfully a doctor) and he told me, worst case I may have broken a bone beneath my knee where a main portion of my leg got caught, and that I can't drive my car. So now I can't even drive my car to the shop I was gonna take it to because it hurts too much to push the clutch in and shift. My mom is gonna have to drive me.
I'm debating now getting the car repainted because of how much it costs to repair matte paint. My roommate scratched my bumper, (the knick he caused was smaller than a baby's pinky nail) and the guy I went to quoted me and told me 502 bucks. So I left the little knick. But I was told this place has military specials (399.99 to paint a car on some deals) so I'll see what I can swing. Idk, I like the matte gray. It all depends on cost. I'm NOT leaving all that there though. Fear of rust for one thing. So we'll see.

Just pay your deductible and get the work done. You're easily looming at 2 grand to repair it otherwise. Plus they'll fix All your scratches. Get well soon kiddo and I'll see you in Melbourne at the end of the month maybe.

Ouch! Sorry to hear about your leg! Just be glad it isn't permanent (hopefully). I would do what Nex mentioned and use insurance for this one. Your deductible will likely be lower than the cost and you can make sure they do it right until you are satisfied (in case they mess up somehow). You could do that either way but having your insurance on your side would help in the battle.
