Import Shark Custom Grill for Veloster Turbo signup list...

Anybody else willing to pay roughly $250 for a custom grill with no "front tag brick" and possibly no front emblem?

The guys at import shark are willing to start the project but they need at least 10 people to put up their payment up front to get the project off the ground. Im gonna put my name to start with. Anyone else interested?

I believe it will look something like this... http://www.velosterturbo.org/forum/a...er-vtafter.jpg

a little rich for my blood...but that does look good! I'm also positive that it will be a quality product and more then likely come painted already.

I dont know but I would assume they are totally different but you could always PM this guy .. http://www.veloster.org/forum/1219-m...portshark.html and ask him. He is with importshark, the vendor who would be making these.

Same would go for any other questions like that.

Count me in! I just picked up my white turbo yesterday and I really don't like that front brick, it's the only thing I don't like about the car.

To clarify a few things here...
The $250 price tag is just an estimate based on grills we've done for other cars. It was a number I came up with off the top of my head just by looking at the sheer size of the Veloster Turbo grill insert. That does not include pre-painting, though we can offer it at an additional cost.

We're looking for some real interest from the community to get things started. Since I have a VT of my own, we can do the R&D quickly and easily. The only drawback is that it costs money to make the mold and do the R&D work. I know the car literally just came out, so it's difficult to accurately gauge the market demand at this point--which is why we're looking to the community to get this project off the ground. If those of you with the car already (or are waiting for one to come in) know that you absolutely want to get rid of the license plate brick and would be willing to put down money to get this grill done sooner rather than later, then of course we'd be happy to help.

I'll have to speak to a couple of manufacturers about production options, costs and quantities, but if pricing ends up being less than $250, then naturally we could always just send back reimbursements for the price difference. What's important at this point is that I can not justify the initial costs based on what I see from the community right now. If there were about 10 people who would be willing to put $250 down each, then we could get started on it immediately. Like I said--I just need to see interest. If the market isn't big enough or established enough for us to fully support the initial investment, then for those of you want this NOW would simply have to put up a portion.

Come on people, I can't be the only one who hates that black brick hanging off the front of their car! Mike, I'll put money down, whatever you want, I'll pay double, whatever it takes to get rid of that thing!!!!!

Thankfully we'd only have to worry about the foglight bezels since everything else is part of the grill itself. The fog bezels look to be the same material as the Genesis Coupe fog bezels--and we were able to get a pretty darn close match for that for the Gen Coupe crowd. I'll see if I can find some closer pics, but here's an example of a grill we painted, which as you can see looks very similar to the OEM plastic foglight bezels below it.
