    windshield

so, on my way to work today, i took a rock to the windshield. i didn't see anything right away, so i thought i got away fairly lucky...i was wrong. the pic is just from my phone, but you should be able to get the idea still. it's towards the bottom just above the wipers. my 1995 Volvo, that was picked up at the factory and spent six years in Europe, has taken a ridiculous amount of debris to the windshield and has never had anything close to this happen. and along those lines, my Veloster already has more paint chips on the front than the Volvo. i digress, but needless to say i'm upset. That's a shame, I would be upset also. I know it wouldn't change it but still....
I hope it's back to normal soon.

That is a drag man, and I'd be real bummed about that too. I hope the repair goes well and it will be back to fine form for you soon.

The chip does have the potential for being a spontaneous Rorschach Test. I see Baby Jesus with Lynard Skynard Ninja Wings drinking Powerade.

    Have a good one,

Ouch FM. You should be able to take this to Safelite, or have them come to you. I have seen much worse, and the repair was almost perfect. you will want to repair it, before it starts to run.

Comprehensive coverage on your insurance. Most companies will waive the deductible on any glass repair that doesn't involve actually replacing the glass. Won't affect your premium, either, unless you've made a rash of comp claims recently.

Got pics? It helps to see. Even if the pix are "shoty". Extra credit for the alliteration "piss poor paint" though.

Agreed. The windshield on the Veloster is cheap and thin. Scratches real easy and I have some rock chips in mine. Paint sucks ass too. Hey it's a commuter car and we get what we pay for. Though it isn't cheap, it's cheaper than a lot of the competitors out there. Will probably be my first and last Hyundai.

The quicker you get that stone hit repaired, the better the results will be. Rain and road grime will weep into the hit and make the repair more visible over time. Take it from a former auto glass tech.
