For those of us who choose not to downplay the drastic differences in beam patterns:

HID in HID Projector.

Note the consistent bright white light under the sharp cutoff.

HID in HID Reflector.

Again, note that the cutoff and consistency of the light is still pretty good, though not optimal.

HID in Halogen Projector.

Note the glare above the cutoff and the inconsistent light quality below.

HID in Halogen Reflector.

The sad thing is how loaded those photos are.

Test all methods at the same distances in the same car. Then we can say.

For example, 2012+ Focus models have reflectors that deliver such a sharp cutoff when using HIDs many of us never bothered to go retrofit. We never expected it to work so well.

People like fear mongering like this. No, definitely not all assemblies work with HIDs. Some work very well. Some require extra work. It isn't always out of the question.

Here I was just minding my own business trying to learn more about headlights and ...BAM.
